Opening a bank account
To open an account, you must have been in Japan for at least 6 months for either working or studying, and have a physical address.
Procedure (Method, Place, What You Need)
What you will need:
・ Residence Card/Gaijin Card/ Zairyu card
・ Driver's license valid in Japan or 2 utility bill receipts with addresses on them or resident's card
・ Seal(Signature is also possible depending on the bank)
・ Something you can check your My number

★ A note from the bank: If you move to another country and do not plan on returning to Japan, please cancel your account. Even if the balance remaining is small, keeping the account open costs a fee that the bank will have to wear, so banks may make the rules strict for opening accounts in the future.
