Benefits, Systems
Details
If a person who is pregnant for a period greater than 4 months (85 days) gives birth to a baby, she will be paid 420,000 yen per child born (404,000 yen if the medical institution does not have the Japan obstetric compensation system for cerebral palsy at the time of delivery).
If she makes a contract about payment with a medical institution for both National Health Insurance and Health Insurance, the costs and benefits will be offset and handled by the insurance provider. If she didn't make a contract or the cost is less than the allowance after offset, she can apply and still receive the difference in cost compensated.
