Type.2 Health Insurance (Company) is insurance that employees within a company are offered as part of their employment and is managed by the Japanese government.

Insured Period
The period of time from the month which includes the date that the initial insurance was acquired (such as the date of joining the company) to the month of the date concluding the insurance (such as the date of leaving the company).

People who is obligated to join in principle
Large scale corporations (stock companies, limited liability companies, etc.) are obliged to join. In addition, businesses owned by individuals but have 5 or more employees (excluding the agriculture, forestry and fishing industries) are also obliged to join.
People who can not join:
- Day-laborers (Unless the employment is set to last for more than a one month period).

- Part-time work, generally less than 30 hours per week
- Seasonal staff(Except in the case of employment for more than 4 months)

*There are cases in which companies and government offices with more than 501 employees join.
The case in which a company does not let their employee join.
Your employer has not included you in their company insurance policy. In this case, you can complete a confirmation request and submit it to the government to clarify your position.

If you visit medical facilities before your Health Insurance Card has arrived, either of the following may apply:
- You may request to have a Belong Health Insurance Certificate issued.
- ・You pay the full amount temporarily and apply for insurance benefits as Medical Expence Refund.
Regarding the day of disqualification, it would be first of August if you leave your job on 31st of July. Joining period would be until July.
