- The following persons who have been approved by the Director of the Regional Immigration Bureau of Japan and who have received a request from the applicant.
① Staff of the institution managed by the applicant or the institution employed
② Staff of the institution where the applicant is receiving training or education
③ An organization that supervises activities to acquire skills, technique or knowledge performed by foreigners
④ Employees of a public interest corporation whose purpose is to aid the process of accepting foreigners
- A lawyer or administrative scrivener who has notified the Director of the Regional Immigration Bureau and has received a request from the applicant.
- If the applicant is under the age of 16 or cannot appear themselves due to illness or other reasons, his/her relatives or cohabitants, etc.

At the Immigration Bureau that has jurisdiction over your physical address
What you will need:
- Application form according to status of residence
- Application photo
- Residence Card
- Non-qualified activity permit (only for those who have permission)
- Passport (The period of stay cannot exceed the expiration date of the passport)
- Other documents according to the status of residence
- Employment contract (depending on status of residence)
- Income tax certificate(depending on status of residence)
- Certificate of residence tax payment (depending on status of residence)
- Questionnaire (change of status of residence due to marriage with a Japanese person)
